So...went back to this place (please see 'Don't Ask...'). Was there less than a minute and took two shots before a disembodied voice came from behind the wood: "no ca me ra! no ca me ra!" In my pidgin Japanese I did a couple of the obligatory 'sumimasens' and said that I wanted to talk to him. No response. More coins dropped (very noisily) into the aforementioned box...which turns out to be a display light by the way. Anyway, the 'no ca me ra!' along with the 'knock knock' sound emanating from behind the wood...well, enough to convince me that it was time to make a withdrawal. He didn't want me to take pictures and I respect that. Haven't decided on a (III)
Nice one.

I miss going through your photos... I've been so busy! I really enjoy your pictures - picture of the pants is so colorful and interesting; Late & Lost is a good capture and this one begs me to ask - what is it?

@M.E.: To be honest...I don't really know. Just walked past a house in a very traditional part of Kyoto - think Memoirs of a Geisha I guess for a visual reference. Then you see this. A series of very bizarre looking sculptures and statuettes...don't have any more info than that I'm afraid.
Very nice black and white and selective framing. Works much better as a detail I reckon. Good choice.
